Domaines de recherche

Throughout her PhD and post-doctoral studies, Emilie Counil developed strong commitment to the study of social inequalities in health related to the environment. She also developed interest in the study of "industrial diseases" - e.g. related to the working and general environments - with a focus on asbestos. Since 2011, she develops research projects articulating qualitative and quantitative approaches to highlight the social and gendered division of occupational cancer risks, notably through a lifecourse perspective.

  • mots-clefs : carcinogenic exposure, occupational health, epidemiology, gender, social inequalities, industrial disease

Enseignement

Émilie Counil is assistant professor in Epidemiology at the French School of Public Health (EHESP, http://www.ehesp.fr/ecole/) since 2010. She teaches basic and more advanced courses in epidemiology and biostatistics, notably:

Responsabilités principales

  • Since 2011, she is director of the GISCOP93 (Groupement d’intérêt scientifique sur les cancers d’origine professionnelle en Seine-Saint-Denis) at Paris 13 University of Medicine, an interventional research team on work-related cancers. She coordinates several research projects funded notably by the French Institute of Cancer (INCa).
  • During her post-doctoral fellowship at Laval University (Québec, Canada) between 2007 and 2009, she coordinated a multiple-center research project in French Polynesia funded by the French national research agency (ANR) and the Polynesian government.
